My Covers (MP3's)

Hi there,

My name is Ahren Baesler and I have been teaching myself how to play guitar and sing for a couple years now. In my free time, I record covers (and hopefully originals) and upload them to YouTube. This is the place where you can download all of my YouTube song covers. The songs are high-quality MP3's (192kbps). They are all free. You can find my musical covers at YouTube.

My songs are all FREE, but if you plan to use my songs in a public video, etc. please contact me via YouTube or leave a comment here. Thank you and enjoy!

About Ahren

My name is Ahren Baesler. I have been playing guitar for a little over two years and have been singing for about one year. I try to do musical covers, record them, and put them up on YouTube. You can find my videos on YouTube. Please feel free to add me on any of the social networks that I have links to on the right side of the page.

You may have noticed that this doesn't look like my normal blog. Unfortunately, my webhost went under and I was forced to move to a different location. So, I have setup this "blog" to use as a temporary location where you guys can still download my songs.

Thanks so much for the support everyone. I hope I can have my real blog back up and running soon. In the meantime, check out my links on the right and add me on the various social networks.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1.) What kind of guitar do you use?
It's a Washburn D30s and was purchased for $300 from Musiciansfriend.com

2.) What about the strings?
I usually use D'addario EJ16 strings. :)

3.) How do you record your covers?
I use an MXL 2001 condenser mic to to record vocals and a pretty crappy dynamic mic to record the acoustic guitar. I use two On-Stage mic stands. Both of the mics run into a Lexicon Omega mixer which runs into my MacBook and I mainly use Ableton Live to record/mix in. I use my Canon SD870is digital camera to record the video, which then goes into iMovie. Here, I mute the sound from the camera and put the audio from the mics in. I export on Medium settings (640×480, .m4v) and upload to YouTube!

4.) How much did all of that cost?
Guitar: $300
MacBook: $1250
Mic Stands and Dynamic Mics: $45
Condenser Mic: $60
Audio Interface: $100
Cables, etc: $35

5.) You should try out for American Idol!!
I appreciate the support, but I don't think that my style is what American Idol is looking for. Plus, there are many, many better vocalists than me on YouTube, who I think have, and deserve, a much better chance than me. :)

6.) Do you take song suggestions?
Sure, I'm always open to taking suggestions, but I can't guarantee that I'll get to them. Right now, I can't even get to the ones I want to do. :/

7.) Where did you learn how to play guitar and/or sing?

I have never taken any guitar or vocal lessons, although I wish I would have when I was younger. I started teaching myself how to play guitar a little over two years ago, and started singing about one year ago.

8.) Why do you use a capo on some of your videos that only use barre chords?

Good observation! I just use it to lower the action on the strings, thus making it easier to play the barre chords. :)

9.) How old are you and where are you from?

I am 19 years old and am from Oregon in the USA. I currently attend the University of Oregon.
